This country is called Karlungkutji (Norton Bore). It lies approximately 30km south of Warmun. Norton Bore is senior Warmun artist Shirley Purdie’s country, where Gabriel Nodea currently lives.

Purdie is Nodea’s ’mum cousin’. Gabriel explains, ’This is a rock at Norton Bore; it is domed on the top. When you rub it, it brings kangaroos.’ The kangaroo depicted in the centre of this work has been painted with the blood of a kangaroo.
