Tiri Sisters are going diving with their father. Not a day is missed, as everyday is important. They go out each morning and return when the sun sets on the horizon. Their father anchors the dinghy on the reef and before they enter the water, he says a prayer, asking for protection throughout the day. Tiri Sisters put on their diving glasses and drop over the side with no diving suits or flippers just like their father.

The reef is reflected in the faces of the girls as they swim over the bonau (bommies). The colours of the reef blend together and reflect off their bellies as well. The colour of the sand and the patterns of the shells as they leave their trails on the ocean floor shows as markings on the clay.

"My ceramic piece is a representation of my sisters and myself as we experienced swimming over the reef in our childhood. The unique colours and patterns of the reef during this part of my island upbringing will stay with me forever." - Ellarose Savage
