Miriam has painted her great Uncle Wimmitji’s story. These are Tingarri features from the Dreamtime and show the travels of the kipara (turkey) Man and his family. His boomerangs used for hunting and in ceremonies are shown. There are many water sources here and he stayed at all of them. Songs re-count his travels and tell of the powers that he has imparted to each of these sites. Wimmitji was chief custodian for these places.
