Born to artist Brandy Tjungurrayi and Nowee Nangala, Madeline Nowee comes from a lineage of fine painters.

In this painting, she has depicted her father’s country which is centred around Puntujalpa (Jupiter Well). The site is called Yarki and is located near the community of Kiwirrkura. The painting shows the different features of the country including tali (sandhills), spinifex, desert trees, pura (bush tomatoes) and kantijilyi (raisins). The central circle is a warniri (rockhole).
