This painting tells a Tjukurrpa (Dreamtime) story for some country south of Yagga Yagga in the Great Sandy Desert. The story tells of the Seven Sisters, ancestral Pintupi women who entered the earth at a place called Pirriabrubrud, far away. They were trying to escape the attention of an older man who wanted to marry one of them. They burrowed through the earth until they arrived at Djawa Djawa. Here, among the hills, or parma (the large circles) the women held a ceremony in celebration, dancing and singing, gathering the abundant bush food of the area.
