This painting represents the change from gnaamaar holes to water holes which were introduced by Shire Road Boards and farmers. By digging wells and sinking bores and installing windmills the water became available for people and sheep to drink. This painting originally had the imprinted circles all over it, but they are now covered up. For example, the well at Kwolyin where the family collected water with a horse and cart, has been filled in like so many others.
