This painting shows Balangal coumntry in Texas, one area of Ngarrgooroon.  ’Trees all in line,’ Patrick Mung Mung says.  ’One spring called Dabungkal on top la Balangal’.  Patrick Mung Mung’s family’s country is Ngarrgooroon.  Located north of the Bungle Bungles (Purnululu National Park), Ngarrgooroon country is hilly terrain, with waterholes and some areas of flat country.  Mung Mung still spends most weekends out bush with his family - children and grandchildren - camping, fishing and hunting for bush tucker.  Mung Mung is committed to teaching his grandchildren the ’bush ways’ of Gija people.
