Layarrlayarrngarriwanema is a cave west of Lansdowne Station.  Layarrlayarrngarriwanema is a cave on top of a place called Baljaninyin ‘Window” which Mick Jawalji has painted many times.

These places are west of Lansdowne station.  Layarrlayarrngarriwanema means “where they scratched marks” in Gija, Mick Jawalji’s language.  The name refers to the marks scratched by people inside the cave.  When Jawalji was a kid his father used to take him there.
