‘This is the story of bush banana. The imagery in the painting represents the bush banana when it is small and dried. It can only be eaten this way after it has been cooked in hot ashes. The artist collects the bush bananas from Epenarra, just north of Utopia Community in Central Australia. The bananas go yellow when they are cooked.’
