Kurtal is a living spring. During the hot seasons, the ground is dug to reveal the spring underneath. This happens amidst great ceremony. Kurtal is a snake-like creature, who lives underground. Though he is a Karlkutu, and he can have legs. He also has a human form, and the custodians of this land become him when they die.
