Kevin Namatjira is the grandson of Albert Namatjira. His parents Maurice and Epana were also artists who raised Kevin in Hermannsburg along with his five siblings Lorraine, Jennifer, Wilfred, Evelyn, Elaine and Susan.

Kevin is a skilled watercolour artist and was taught to paint by his father Maurice. Kevin and his family live in Alice Springs and have been living at the Namatjira Camp for many years.

Paintings by Kevin Namatjira have been acquired by the Art Gallery of South Australia, Museum and Gallery of the Northern Territory (MAGNT) and the Parliament House Collection in Canberra.
