Wati kutjara nyinanyi (two men are sitting). Kunkunpa (sleeping). They were painting inside the cave. When they woke up they were looking for the two women. The eldest is called Wanyinta and the younger Alartjatjarra. The two brothers are really wanampi (snake men). The women had travelled a long way, east of Yalata. The men were searching everywhere for them.
Tjukurpa pulkana mulapa (This is a very important true story). This rockhole is close up to Nyapari.
This is the Wanampi Tjukurpa (water snake men dreaming) for Nyapari. This place is called Piltati. The two wanampi’s were sitting inside the cave painting sacred symbols on the walls by fire light.
Two brothers live here at Piltati. They were drawing sacred designs on the cave walls and having Inma (ceremonial singing). There wives travelled everyday in search of food. The women dug for kuka mitika (betong) and collected bush foods. Mai kutjupa kutjupa (many different varieties of wild plant foods).
The two sisters from Piltati have been digging for kuka (meat) in their hunting grounds. They created many rock holes with all their digging.
Wati kutjara, minyma kutjara nyinanyi (two men and two women are sitting).Kangkuru malanypa Nyapari Tjukurpa (this is the Nyapari story of the big sister and the younger sister). The man is called Nyulu. He’s not really a man, but a wanampi (watersnake).
There are two brothers married to two sisters. The men are always sitting around having inma (ceremonies) and the women get angry that they are always working hard getting all the food. The women, the eldest is called Wanyinta and the younger Alartjatjarra. go further and further away in search of food. They headed to Pilki, kapi pulka (a big rock hole) for honey ants.
They were digging for kuka mitika (burrowing bettong). Irititja kuka (food from the early days). Wati kutjara nyinanyi (two men are sitting). Kunkunpa(sleeping). They were painting inside the cave. When they woke up they were looking for the two women.
They turned into wanampi (watersnakes) to trick the women and hid in the hole they were digging. There is a lot of story for this place. Important story. Piltati rockhole.
