Vanessa was born in Alice Spring, but grew up “both ways”; in Alice Springs and in her father's country at Wave Hill.
She went to school at Yirrara College Alice Springs where she enjoyed learning.
She speaks Gurrindji, Arrernte and English.
Vanessa enjoys working in the art room alongside her mother Marlene Rubuntja.
She says she is proud of the art room and of her home at Larapinta Valley Town Camp.
