Alison Walbungara/Inkamala, sister to landscape artist Steven Walbungara was born in Hermannsburg Community (Ntaria), west of Alice Springs and moved to Alice Springs in her twenties.

A prolific artist, Alison was taught landscape painting along with her siblings by her uncle Arnold Ebatarintja.

Distinguished by its raw and expressive style, Alison's landscapes often depict powerful stories from her family’s Country around Central Mount Wedge and Ntaria.

The artist frequently paints the famous Finke River as well as important sites in Alice Springs.

Alison was selected as a finalist for the Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Award in 2008.

Alison's work was recently selected for publication in the 2011 IAD Press Jukurrpa diary..
