Alma Sailor was born in 1967. Her mother was born in Palm Island and her father was born in Darnley Island, and they both have Pacific Island and Torres Strait heritage.
Alma first starting creating art with the craft group on Darnley Island known as Ekkilau. After her husband’s passing in 2011, Alma decided to commit into art again and in early 2013, she joined the present group of artists of Erub Erwer Meta. Presently she is experimenting with screen-printing, pottery, jewellery and ghost net bags.
