ENQUIRE
David learnt to paint in his formative years by watching his Grandmother Mati Mudgedell (deceased).
He was a keen listener and throughout his life listened to the elders telling ancestral stories about his traditional country.
He commenced painting in 2001 where he depicted his Tjukurrpa in a traditional realistic style.
He didn’t paint his next painting until 2008 in a contemporized style using line and a minimal palette of two colors. He grew up in Broome and attended Saint Mary’s State School where he excelled in arts and sport.
He now resides in Balgo and is a trainee manager at Warlayirti Artists Aboriginal Corporation.
He is also a skilled film editor and camera person and is committed to the corporations cultural documentation project.
