Rhattigan Yard is situated in the top of Bow River, which is around 30 minutes drive north of Warmun on the Great Northern Highway. The Tailing Yard in this painting refers to the stockman who would check on the stock and cattle at night, "like nightshift work" according to Beryline Mung, Freddie’s spouse. Freddie was appointed as one of the head stockmen at Bow River station by the gardiya (whitefella) manager and owner, Sam Lillie.
