Born: c.1973, Gorabuna village, Oro Province, Papua New Guinea Language Group: Ömie Clan: Ematé Lives and works: Godibehi village, Oro Province, Papua New Guinea Medium: natural pigments on nioge (women’s barkcloth skirts) Julice has been fortunate as she learnt many traditional barkcloth designs from the female elders of her village before they passed away, including Mary Naumo (d.2004) and her mother-in-law Uveyvo Ajiro - both of whom are revered barkcloth artists.

She is now well versed in many important Ematé clan designs such as nuni’e - the design of the eye, odunaigö’e - jungle vines and buborianö’e - beaks of Blyth’s Hornbill.

She has also been taught.
