Katanari originally painted and produced batik with Tjurma Arts and Crafts art centre, which was situated in Amata, right next door to Tjala Arts (then known as Minymaku Arts).

Katanari started painting with Tjala Arts backaround 2000.

She has been a practicing artist for many years and is always experimenting with ideas and traditional stories from her dreamtime.

Katanari is also an excellent basket maker..
