Michelle is a senior artist of Ampilatwatja and has been recognized as being one of the established artists of the region, with her work embodying individualistic representation of the folkloric and naïve genre.

Her favourite subject is the surrounding countryside and the cultural links Michelle has to that landscape.

As a young school girl, she loved to draw trees, land and water holes.

Michelle painted for the first time in 1999, when Desart Inc.

ran workshops on the community.

She had a natural talent and ability to mix colours and paint landscapes.

Her paintings reflect the changing light during different times of day and seasons.

Michelle was part of the original Utopian batik art movement of the 1980's with her silk works being in the Robert Holmes a Court Collection.
