Pinyirr was born at Kalpaa, also known as Well 24 on the Canning Stock Route.

She is a younger sister of Bugai Whylouter and the two girls grew up with many other relatives in the country around Karlamilyi (Rudall River).

They also walked into the desert country north of Karlamilyi, around Kunawarritji (Well 33).

Pinyirr's family moved into Jigalong mission and she attended school there.

She has lived on several Martu communities and now stays primarily around Kunawarritji, to be with her sister.

Pinyirr paints all of her mother's country, around both Karlamilyi (Rudall River) and the mid-section of the Canning Stock Route.

She works closely with her sister, Bugai Whylouter and is currently teaching her daughter about painting and country..
