Tjampawa is the mother of artist Tjimpayi and grandmother to artist Joylene who are better known for their work with Tjurma Arts and Crafts.
Tjampawa and her family are the traditional owners of the homeland called Tjurma which is adjacent to the Amata community and now administered by the Amata Council.
Tjampawa is lovely woman, and probably the oldest woman in Amata.
She has previously lived in Irruntju (also known as Wingellina), Western Australia, but now resides with other family members on the homeland called Katjikuta which is approximately 5kms northeast of Amata.
Tjampawa has painted with Irruntju Arts, Tjurma Arts and Crafts and finally joined Tjala Arts (then known as Minyamku Arts) around 1999.
As well as painting, Tjampawa makes animal figures and baskets from local grasses, purchased raffia and any material or items she finds lying around her homeland.
