Born to artist Brandy Tjungurrayi and Nowee Nangala, Theresa Nowee comes from a lineage of fine painters.
In this painting, she has depicted her father’s country which is centred around Puntujalpa (Jupiter Well). The site is called Yarki and is located near the community of Kiwirrkura. The painting shows the different features of the country including tali (sandhills), spinifex grasses, desert trees, pura (bush tomatoes) and kantijilyi (raisins). The central circle is a warniri (rockhole).
