Hector Jandany, Lorraine’s grandfather died in 2006.  Jandany passed on many stories from his traditional country to Daylight.

’This is Ngarrgurun country for Hector Jandaloo,’ Hector Jandany said.  ’Jandaloo and Ngarrgurun and Ngarrgurun and Hector Jandaloo - all tied up together. All this area is for my mother. We would go digging for jarlawurlayin - those little one, big like a thumb and jinguwayin, a little bit longer ones. That bush potato he grow everywhere - in that many places in Ngarrgurun. We would wait for dry time to pick ’em. When that leaf go a light colour, then he’s ready to pick. All this ground - tucker for my family.’
