Tjapartji Bates was born at Warrijda rockhole in country called Yinunmaru. This painting is about Kungkarangkalpa (seven sisters). The ladies are camping at Wirlurapl rockhole, just north of Wanarn community and left of the cemetery. There was a man, he was chasing the ladies everywhere. They were digging, digging, digging for water at the rockhole soak.
That man was spying on them, he was trying to grab the young one. He nearly got her but they were too quick. They must have flown somewhere? Must be?

Tjapartji Bates was born a lnumaru not far from Karilwarra.
This story is about the Wannarrla wati (men) from Karilwara (Patjarr) fighting with the Ngantum and Lapaku Tingari men. The Warmarrla men went L.apaku way to fight. On the way they left a little girl at the lnumaru rockhole. She's finished now and this is a sorry business. Miss Bates sings this powerful story.

Kungkarangkalpa Tjukurrpa (seven sisters dreaming) are travelling through beautiful tali (sandhills) country, camping at rockholes and collecting mirrka and kuka. They killed a tiwil and cooked and ate it. They then went to Kalalu and then went crawling along the creek and ended up in Wanarn.
