When I drive back into my place Kwolyin, I sense the agelessness of the ancient rocks and lands around me and I know that that agelessness continues. It is not made new by buildings or farms as they are just footprints on this ageless country. They don’t distract me from seeing the ancient soul of this place. The rocks that I depict represent traditional times when the Noongar people would travel to sacred granite landmarks such as Kockerbin Rock to seek advice on fertility matters from the spirit man who inhabited the rock.
